Can a rap crew have a worst name than this? Don't think so, it is indeed a weird name for any crew but it's a choice that I won't comment on, because who knows, maybe they all had A.D.D?
Despite this horrible name, though, The Concentration Camp was really something special. Probably the greatest team to ever emerge out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
C-Loc wasn't really the one that came up with the idea of the Camp, it was the guy he grew up with, Young Bleed, but being the first one out with an album, a little regional success to go along and also because he had his label, C-Loc Records, he ended up being the man in charge, and it worked well like that!
More low key by nature, Bleed was better in the dark, playing the right hand man, but still appearing on a lot of songs on early Loc albums and Camp compilations. And they had a full clique of local talents in the mix as well with Lay Lo, Max Minelli or a very young Boosie among others.
With, as a topping on a cake, a young and future great beatmaker/producer from Texas named Happy Perez.

Concentration Camp was really a great crew and showed it on well crafted releases like, just to name a few, C-Loc’s It’s A Gamble and Whatever or Young Bleed’s My Balls My World, and team efforts like the first Concentration Camp Compilation and its follow-ups Da Holocaust and Thug Brothers.
Unfortunately, it only took a few years for the former members of the Camp to each go their own way, and most of them have been doing good since, the Concentration Camp was really something unique, because not only they were putting Baton Rouge on the map, but they were really doing something different from the rest of the south.

So here is a new hour compilation dedicated to the best hours of the often under appreciated but yet most legendary team to ever come out of Baton Rouge, The Concentration Camp and its head, C-Loc.
