As I was saying in our Concentration Camp special, C-Loc was often seen as the sole head of the camp, but it was really Young Bleed that came up with the idea of the Camp, gathering everyone and kind of overseeing what the youngsters were doing, keeping everyone in toe.
But the low key MC, never really seemed to care much about being in the light, discreet, he let the music speaks for self and damn it does!
In a career that spans over 18 years, he has simply released nothing but heat.
From his early days in the shadow of C-Loc to his big breakthrough, still with Loc but also back by Master P, resulting in a first album that was an instant classic. Even though, it wasn’t a true NL release, it’s arguably one of the best albums to ever sport a tank on his back cover.
He followed up with second excellent album only with Priority after that, and then went independent for the rest of his career. He wasn’t getting and still doesn’t get much press, but it never kept him from dropping good music.
Young Bleed is to me one of the most underrated rapper ever. South or not. A genius that is not recognized as he should be, Vintage, Once Upon a Time in Amedica or even the more recent Preserved all went just way under the radar, but were all some of the best LPs released in their respective times, and are still great to listen to to this day.
