Alabama Jewels Part 1

After Louisiana and Texas, we stay deep in the south with our first compilation dedicated to the state of Alabama.

It's a personal opinion, but though not the most known, Alabama had one of the best and most interesting underground scene in the 90's and early 00's.
They weren't the most productive guys in the south, but in terms of quality and originality, they really had a lot going on.
Some would probably argue that due to the states' geographic situation, local artists borrowed from their neighbors, and that 'Bama lacked of a definitive sound like NOLA had with bounce or  TX with screw music, but they really had and still have their own way to do things, adding their own twist to almost everything.
And, at the end, diversity and creativity would be some of the best adjectives to describe the movement they had going on in those days.

If they never got the recognition they deserved while active, happily for us, they left behind  tons of gems that's never to late to discover.

So, for a first taste of it, here is a selection of 90/00s jewels from the Alabama UG scene.

To be noted: Jezreel was Realla-Rolla first rap monicker which he changed for his second album, and the rest of career.
