In the 90’s, for the masses, Outkast, and the Dungeon Fam, was what Georgia rap was all about.
As it was the only sound to really reach the masses outside of Georgia, Kast and the DF did indeed represent an important side of the Georgia sound for the outside world, but that’s not what it was all about.
While Master P was ruling the rap world, a young independent artist decided playtime was over in his homestate of GA.
Getting in the game by challenging Master P and his No Limit Industries, Pastor Troy didn't really wanna arm P or anyone, just wanted to tell the world, he got next, in the pure Hip-Hop tradition by going at his competition, and it worked as he quickly got the ear of people worldwide.
Now, almost 20 years in the game, if he never sold millions like No Limit, with lots of great and underrated albums over the year, consistency and still being relevant after over 15 years in, yep, Pastor Troy is a GA legend!
So, let’s take a look back at P-T Cruiser formative years in the game with this thirteen-tracks mix of some of his best work from 1998 to 2001, from his first independent release to his major label debut.
