Outkast - G.O.A.T Status

Just like Face a few years before them, when Big Boi and Andre came onto the scene in mid 90's, they really kicked in some doors and subsequently opened a lot of them for the south, puttin' Georgia on the map at the same time. And more than any other group,  their influence is still felt today in a lot of young artists work, and not just for their country roots...

8Ball & MJG, UGK, Geto Boys or even 3 6 Mafia can be considered legendary groups from the dirty, but I believe that Ouktast is yet on another level. The chemistry, the musicality they tried to bring while still being lyrical and with a content, it was incredible. As a duo, they really came near perfection every time.
Again, like for Scarface, it goes beyond regional frontiers. With only 4 albums as a group (the 5th was something else), they really revolutionized hip-hop and 3 out of 4 are absolute classics, and the 4th one, which was actually their first, is near the classic status as well. I would say, it is, but some would say, it's a notch below... It's debatable....

Enough said, though, onto the music with this new compilation of 17 dope tracks from the Georgia duo before their first live reunion, in 10 years, for Coachella on April, 11.
