After the state of Texas, I decided to go a little east to another state with a very rich music history, Louisiana, and most particularly the city of New Orleans, which is to me, just like Houston, one of the most important rap spot in the southwest region but also in the history of this music.
It gave us two real mythic labels (Cash Money and No Limit) for the genre, but New Orleans birthed hundreds of talents and once had one of the craziest, most vivid independent rap scene.

Great talents emerged from there, a lot of guys were local/regional stars and got the whole city, state, southwest region banging.
This first part is about the early stages with the earliest works of well known rappers like Juvenile, Mystikal and even Mannie Fresh who started producing for local star Gregory D.
Yep, those guy have been around for decades! Others, you might not be too familiar with their names, but guys like Sporty T, DJ Mouche, Tim Smooth ou DJ Jubilee were staples and just like Tre-8, Ice Mike had good careers in the indie game.
And I couldn't include it in my recommandations, but if you can, try to find Ricky-B first album, Let's Go Get 'Em, as it is in my humble opinion, probably the best bounce album ever made.
